Quick Tips Part 1: getting my website online

Sally Tomkotowicz - Marketing Manager, Register365Here’s the first in our series of Quick Tips for you.  This week, Sally Tomkotowicz, Marketing Manager for Register365, tells us how easy it is to set up a website for your new business.

Q. I want to start my own business, can I create a website myself and how much does it cost?

A. Yes, you can create a website yourself! With the right tools, you can create a professional looking website, quickly and easily, and from only €5 a month.

Here’s how:

Step 1 – First you need to decide on your domain name (or website address as it’s sometimes known). You should choose a name that is relevant to your business or website content.  Try to use words that are easy to remember and don’t make your domain name too long. The most popular domains to buy are .com, or .ie if you’re operating in Ireland specifically – for example – mycakeshop.com and mycakeshop.ie.

Step 2 – Now you can think about creating your website.  One of the easiest solutions is a DIY website building tool from a web hosting company like Register365. Their product SiteMaker allows you to build a website using a very simple point and click method. It takes no time at all to add your own content, images and videos, and you can also add a PayPal shop so that you can start selling online.   If you choose one of Register365’s SiteMaker annual plans, you will get a domain name free with your website builder.

Step 3 – Now all you have to do is publish your SiteMaker website and show off your new business!
