Apple’s worst kept secret is out. The iPad Mini will be in shops on Friday! The much anticipated 7.9-inch device was revealed last week, initially selling at a surprisingly high £269, £100 more than the Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire HD.
What do you actually get with the iPad Mini?
Phil Schiller, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Apple Inc. introduced the device as being “as thin as a pencil” and “as light as a pad of paper”. He’s not wrong! The iPad Mini is 7.2mm thin and weighs 308 grams. It measures 7.9″ on a diagonal and features resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, the same as the iPad 2.
- Processor: Dual-core A5 processor.
- Camera: Face Time HD front-side camera, 5Mp iSight camera.
- Connectivity: 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, LTE ultrafast wireless, Bluetooth 4.0.
- Battery: 16.3-watt-hour rechargeable lithium polymer (up to 10 hours).
To the relief of Apple, technology experts around the world have reacted positively to the device – despite the slightly high price, praising its feel and ease of use. One stated that the device is “so light that your hand has no real sensation of weight, just of presence”.
During the same event Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc. unveiled the new iPad with Retina display, the new iMac and the new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display – making this the most crammed ‘Special Event’ ever! Watch the event at: Special Event
